7 steps to stay motivated and reach your six pack goals!

from your six pack workouts

Make sure your goals are measurable

Firstly make sure you have goals!! Anything from getting a six pack like I am doing or going on a grate holiday with your partner. Set yourself goal because many days it will be these goals that will pull you through. Secondly get measured. Go and get a body analysis or composition test including a fitness test so that you know where you are and know where you want to go. Get one of these ever 4 weeks to see how you are progression, it’s a great motivator. Also keep track of your workout program and you will soon see how much stronger and fitter you are getting!

Be realistic

I am now going for my final 12 weeks, but my transitions started over 14 weeks ago. You won’t be ale to go from 130kg to 85kg in 12 weeks, it’s just not physically possible. So talk to a professional, set your goals realistically and the go fro them. Remember, small steps, constantly is what get you to the goal.

Make it fun

How can you make going to gym FUN you say? We firstly do something you enjoy doing, if you don’t like riding bike, don’t do it, if you don’t like any type of exercise, well then you will just need to force yourself in the beginning until you do!!!! Another great way to add fun is to add variety. Not only will this stop you from getting board but it will also give you better results faster.

Join a group or get a training buddy.

We all know that when we are going through a thought time, sometime the only that pulls us through is support from someone else. Well going to gym and sticking to you weight loss of muscle building program is no different. Getting a friend to start with you or joining one of classes at the gym is the best way to do this. Also, you can do what I am doing but on a smaller scale by telling everyone what you are doing, what your goals are and then it will be so much harder to turn back!

Schedule and be prepared.

When you train first in the morning or after work, it makes it much easier if you have gym bag packed and ready to go. I know so many people that get up in the morning, can’t find their running shoes, and then just go back to bed. BE PREPARED. Get your food ready for the day the following evening, get your gym bag or clothes ready the following evening. By being prepared you take another obstacle out of your way to get to you goal faster.

Accept wrong choice and get back on the saddle.

Everyone, YES everyone will from time to time just not feel in the mood to go to gym or want to have a nice big meal with the family or if you like me, have a whole slab of chocolate by myself. These things will happen but it doesn’t need to stop you all together. If you want have a night out with the girls or boys then do it, don’t feel guilty, enjoy it, but comes tomorrow get back on your saddle and continue your program.

And lastly Just do it!!!

There are many days that I don’t even feel like getting out of bed, not to mention going to gym. But what I do is just take my time, pack my gym back, get to the gym and just go on the bike and start cycle. Sometime I don’t even stick to my program because I just don’t feel like cycling fast or going flat or anything, so I just sit on the bike for 10mins or so and cycle, look at everyone, look at the TV etc. And do you know what, almost every time after those first 10 mins I AM READY TO GO. I will continue to do my full workout and more. Some days you just need to drag yourself out of bed, no matter how NOT IN THE MOOD YOU are and go and do it. Have picture of six pack or a holiday that you promised yourself if you reach your goal in your wallet and when you don’t feel like doing anything today, look at it and then JUST GO AND DO IT!!!
